1% for the Planet is an alliance of businesses donating 1% of our annual revenue to non-profit organizations that help the environment. It was started in 2001 by Yvon Chouinard, author of Let My People Go Surfing, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies, who thought it was good business to protect the natural resources that kept them in business.
We at DGP agree. Since 2007, each employee is given a piece of our revenue to donate to a 1% organization of choice. Our 2011 organizations include:
