Commissioning

Building commissioning is quality-based process that ensures that a building's systems are designed, installed, and tested to perform according to the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR) and the design teams Basis of Design. Fundamental Building Commissioning is a prerequisite of the LEED rating system and is required for certification.   DGP facilitates full fundamental and enhanced building commissioning services in accordance with the LEED requirements, from the early planning and design stages through building completion and occupancy. DGP serves as the project's commissioning agent and provides all required services, from third party mechanical system review of construction documents to functional testing, and pre-occupancy commissioning services.
 
 
Fundamental Building Systems Commissioning (Prerequisite and required for Certification)
  • Provide format to document Owner’s Project Requirements / Basis of Design (OPR/BOD) and facilitate completion by Design Team
  • Create Commissioning Specifications to incorporate commissioning requirements into the construction documents
  • Develop and implement a Commissioning Plan
  • Verify installation and functional performance of energy consuming systems
  • Create a summary Commissioning Report
 
Enhanced Commissioning
  • Review 100% Design Documents and Plan Check Documents against Owner’s Project Requirements and Basis of Design, and back-check the review comments in the subsequent design submission
  • Review contractor submittals for systems being commissioned
  • Develop a Systems Manual for future operating staff to optimally operate the commissioned system
  • Verify that the requirements for training operating personnel and building occupants are complete
  • Review building operation with O&M staff during 10 month warranty check, and provide a plan for resolution of outstanding commissioning-related issues
