UC San Diego Stewart Commons Dining Facility

Stewart Commons Dining Facility renovation includes 5 new dining platforms to help facilitate the flow of an estimated 3,745 students daily. A cool roof was added to the building to reduce heat island effect and save energy costs.  The facilty features materials containing recycled content, or materials manufactured within 500 miles of project.  50% of the construction waste was diverted from the landfill. Water efficient plumbing fixtures were utilized.  During construction, the building and materials were kept clean, dry and smoke free.  Low-VOC products were used and increased levels of fresh, outside air are vented into the building.

West Wireless Health Institute

The quest for sustainable buildings begins at the site selection stage, and although the West Wireless Health Institute (WWHI) is an interior renovation, its location provides several environmental benefits. WWHI has chosen 10350 North Torrey Pines Road in La Jolla, California as the San Diego base for its research to lower health care costs by accelerating the availability of wireless health solutions. The building is one of five that comprise the Torrey Pines Building complex. WWHI occupies the entire first, second and third floor of building 10350, and includes non-medical labs and offices that have been redesigned to aid the research activities of the facility.

Goody’s Place and Market at UCSD

Goody’s Place and Market is an existing student lounge located within the Thurgood Marshall College of the University of California, San Diego campus. The building’s interior has been superiorly re-designed and constructed as a small dining facility in accordance with strict guidelines from the US Green Building Council.

The building is centrally located on UCSD’s Thurgood Marshall College campus, making it accessible to all students in the college. The new dining facility will provide an easy “to-go” restaurant option for students traveling between the dormitories and classrooms.

The San Diego Foundation Suite 100

The San Diego Foundation’s offices are situated in the historic Liberty Station development near the urban core of San Diego, California. The office space where tenant improvements took place, is located on the first floor of one, two-story building totaling approximately 20,000 sf per floor; the project area comprises of 3,421 sq ft. The tenant space has the following primary areas: Open Office, IT/AV, Copy and Storage/Break Rooms.

The first floor will be occupied by two tenants, Voice of San Diego and The Boys & Girls Foundation. The facility’s programming and layout are typical of standard office tenants. A five-year lease will be signed by both tenants scheduled to occupy the space beginning in January 2008.
